We are always so thankful for the facilities provided for us by the Parish and the generosity of our many friends that, to say 'Thank you' we frequently try to contribute to events in the parish and elsewhere. Our
activities have included support for Operation Christmas Child, in which
we fill shoeboxes with gifts to children mainly in Eastern Europe who otherwise would receive nothing
at Christmas. We have had a stall in recent times at the parish Christmas
Fairs, and have participated in the Mickleover Nativity, which we hope
will promote the Tuesday Club in Mickleover.
At present most of our members come from other parts of Derby. We also collect plastic bottle tops. Donna and Dean are the most prolific and each meeting turn up with bags full of them. At present the tops go to France sent by post by our great friends at Mount St Mary's School at Spinkhill or taken by car. The tops fund all sorts of facilities for people with disabilities from wheelchairs to stair lifts to showers. The organisation also has the backing of the bank Credit Mutuel. We have since discovered two possible places in England for using tops for charitable purposes so in future we may split them three ways.
