| 4-2-6 Group | ||||
| The
4-2-6 group is for children who have taken their First Holy
Communion (Years 4 to 6). We hope to meet four times a year, with the
children participating in Mass if they so wish, (eg drama, offertory,
reading etc) followed by a get-together in the Parish Centre for various
children's activities. This will be a good opportunity to come together,
build on our faith and make new friends. We are looking for parents with
children in this age group to assist. The group has been
joined by four of this year's Confirmation candidates who will be using the 4-2-6 group
experience as part of their Confirmation project of service. They are all
very welcome and we look forward to their continued help.

The 4-2-6 group had its third full meeting on Saturday 25th April. Once again, the children participated in the Mass by taking responsibility for the readings, bidding prayers, the offertory and a short drama of the Gospel. It was a fantastic opportunity for all parishioners to see the dedication and hard work the children put into the Mass. After celebrating Mass the group joined up in the Parish Centre and had a great evening's fun with a number of activities that included Chocolate Bingo and some refreshments. One of the children also celebrated their Birthday during the evening and kindly brought a cake along to share her celebration. The evening was well attended again, and as ever, the adult helpers had as much fun as the children. The Confirmation candidates did a first class job in supporting the 4-2-6 group over the weekend and their help is greatly appreciated.

Our next meeting is Saturday 18 July. The event will follow the usual format and will dedicate its time to the Mass and a social event in the Parish Hall afterwards. Further information on what we have planned for the evening will be sent by e-mail to all the children or you will be able to find the details posted on this web-site. The 4-2-6 organising committee would like to say a special thank you to all the year 6 children that will be leaving the group after the next event. You have played a big part in the success of the group, you have also been great fun and we look forward to seeing you as helpers in a few years time ! All our Children celebrating their First Holy Communion this year will be eligible to join the group and are all very welcome.
